Tractor-trailer driver fatally hits 18-year-old man in St. Augustine

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL – An 18-year-old man from Jacksonville passed away after he was hit by a tractor-trailer driver on I-95 on Sunday, First Coast News said.

Prior to the young man getting struck by the truck, he was driving his pickup truck and drifted off the road before returning and slamming into a center guardrail. After he hit the guardrail, he then got out of his vehicle and tried to walk onto the southbound lanes of I-95 from the eastbound and westbound directions and was struck by the big rig as a result.

Florida Highway Patrol, who responded to the scene, has not provided additional information surrounding Sunday’s wreck.
