Man, 75, loses life after driving into Estero Pond

ESTERO, FL – A 75-year-old man died after crashing his car into a pond at the Villagio At Estero Condo Association Friday.

First responders extricated Anthony Basile, a resident of the condo complex, and took him to a hospital, where he later died, NBC-2 revealed.

While the Lee County Sheriff’s Office has started an investigation, officials have not yet disclosed what led Basile to crash into the pond.
