If I buy a product that causes injury, how can I recover?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

If a product purchased from a store causes injury, Product Liability law allows you the ability to sue the retail store or their supplier. There are limits and exclusions but there are avenues to go after the seller if you get an injury. And just because the store may have gone out of business, you can still have a legal course. If you are injured, speak to qualified attorneys at The Pendas Law Firm because we are able to evaluate and utilize creative ways to find recovery. Make sure to keep the defective product because it is key. Sometimes injuries are related to recalled products, which are easier to prove. But sometimes we have to determine the problem with a product, and this can be key evidence. For example, if you’re involved in an accident due to a tire blow out, keep that tire for evidence. In any Products Liability action, remember to preserve the evidence as this helps attorneys to strengthen the case. When taking photos of evidence, protect yourself by sending the important photos to a friend, just in case there could be a loss with the phone.
