3-auto crash in Hialeah claims 2 lives, sends 2 to hospital
HIALEAH, FL – Two people were taken to a hospital, and two lives were claimed following a three-vehicle collision in the area of 483 SE Fifth Street Tuesday.
Police told Local 10 that the collision unfolded when one of the drivers, a 14-year-old boy, had struck a driver of a car who ran a stop sign, and then one of them hit a parked car.
Authorities said the 14-year-old boy had stolen his car from his parents and does not have a driver’s license. They did not clarify if he was the second person hospitalized or provided an update on his physical condition.
Police did confirm, though, that one of the individuals taken to a hospital was 66-year-old Liliana Hernandez Molina, a backseat passenger from the car that ran the red light.
First responders airlifted Molina to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where she is being treated for critical, life-threatening wounds.
The two individuals who lost their lives were with Molina. Police identified them as 39-year-old Yarina Garcia Hernandez, the driver who ran the stop sign, and 53-year-old Gloria Hernandez, a front-seat passenger.
Police said one other person was also taken to Jackson Memorial but by ground.
